His writing has appeared in NZ literary journals including Catalyst, Takahe, Landfall, JAAM and Hellfire Poetry Anthology as well as various zines and chapbooks. He is the co-organiser of long-running open mic and literary journal Catalyst, now in its twenty-second year, and an ardent supporter of emerging poets. Along with collaborator Doc Drumheller he helped champion performance poetry and introduced Poetry Slams to Ōtautahi Christchurch under the name Poetry Idol. They then devised the cruel and unholy mash-up of live poetry and reality TV known as Survivor: Poetry for the WORD Christchurch festival. Since the creation of the NZ Poetry Slam circuit he has been the host of the annual Ōtautahi Christchurch Poetry Slam.

He has performed in a number of arts and literary festivals in NZ alongside poets and musicians with groups such as Love Letters in the Margin, Lyttelton Poets, Whisky Chasers, and Catalyst Road Show. His close collaborators and poetry tragics, Famous Last Words, are the resident poets of famous whisky bar, The Last Word. They released their first collective volume of poetry in 2024.
